These Solar Eclipse Glasses / Shades are perfectly safe to be used in direct solar viewing. They work by filtering out 100% of the harmful UV (Ultra Violet) and Infrared, along with 99.9% of the intense visible light from the sun. Looking through these filters, you would be able to see a sharp orange image of the sun, and sometimes you might be able to spot a larger sunspot!
The robust anti-scratch filters on the shades are built with an optical density 5 or greater. Now you can safely watch any solar phenomenon without damaging your vision. They are also 'CE' Certified and meets the Australian Standard AS 1338.2 and 1338.3
