Hybrid Solar Eclipse 2023

On Thursday the 20th of April, the 2023 Solar Eclipse will be visible across Australia, but is best viewed at Ningaloo in Western Australia (WA), where a Total Solar Eclipse will be visible. It will also be visible across parts of East Timor, Damar Island and in Papua, Indonesia.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun, resulting in an obscured image of the Sun. It presents a unique opportunity to view an extraordinary astronomical event.

WARNING: never look directly at the Sun, even during a solar eclipse.

We recommend using a solar filter with your telescope - we've linked some below.

If you're unsure of which filter suits your telescope, feel free to contact us via LiveChat (in the bottom right of the screen), email us at support@opticscentral.com.au or call us on 1300 884 763!
