Overview Observe the Sun safely with the Baader 5.0 OD AstroSolar filter for 160mm telescopes. Designed for telescopes and camera lenses with apertures ranging from 150-170mm, this specialised filter prioritises user safety and convenience during solar observation. The filter includes Velcro safety straps, pads, and large centering bolts with rubber grips. These components ensure a firm and reliable attachment to your optical equipment, eliminating the risk of accidental detachment or misalignment. Additionally, the bolt slots feature printed index scales, allowing for quick and repeatable adjustments, streamlining the setup process. The AstroSolar filter incorporates a white outer ring that effectively rejects harmful infrared light. Furthermore, raised edges along the inner and outer circumferences provide an additional layer of protection, safeguarding the film from potential damage. The solar film itself is cemented onto an injection-molded ring, which shares the same thermal expansion properties as the AstroSolar Filter material. This innovative design allows for a free-floating film-carrier ring, securely held in place by a reinforced plastic holding ring. This construction maximises security against film breakage, ensuring long-lasting performance. included in the package are two sets of 38mm-long centering bolts, with three bolts of 10mm diameter and three of 20mm diameter, catering to a variety of setup configurations.
