Overview The Baader 5.0 OD AstroSolar filter, specifically engineered for 280mm telescopes, provides a reliable method for observing the Sun and is fully compatible with telescopes and camera lenses with apertures ranging from 270mm to 290mm. Included in the package are Velcro safety straps, pads, and substantial centering bolts with rubber grips to securely fasten the filter to the telescope or lens, thus minimising the risk of accidental detachment or misalignment. Moreover, the bolt slots feature printed index scales, making adjustments to the filter quick and straightforward, thereby simplifying the setup process. For added safety, the AstroSolar filter is surrounded by a white outer ring that repels harmful infrared light. Additionally, it has raised edges along the circumferences of the film provide an extra layer of protection. The solar film is bonded to an injection-molded ring, which shares the same thermal expansion properties as the AstroSolar Filter material, allowing for a free-floating film-carrier ring to remain securely in place. The package also contains two sets of 38mm-long centering bolts: three bolts with a diameter of 10mm and three with a diameter of 20mm, accommodating various setup configurations.
