This C8 SCT OTA sits on a CGEM-style dovetail bar, allowing you to mix-and-match with a number of different mounts. You're not limited to just Celestron triopods and mounts.

The Celestron C8 is also extremely good quality. With an aluminium construction, the optics of this telescope are coated with Celestron's StarBright XLT Coatings. When paired with a large 8-inch aperture, expect sensational views of deep sky objects such as galaxies, nebula and star clusters. Take the C8 OTA out to a dark sky site and lose yourself in the spectacular details of the night sky. For Deep Sky imaging, a focal reducer is highly recommended for field correction and to offer a wider field of view.

The C8 also features a 2032mm focal length, bring the f-ratio to f/10.0. This makes this 8-inch SCT remarkably useful for observing and imaging some of the planets, such as Saturn's rings or Jupiter's Great Red Spot. You can also expect breathtaking views of the intricate details of the Moon with close-up views of the craters and lunar seas.

Depending on your mount, you can select from either a Wide CGE or narrow CG-5 compatible dovetail bar. This listing is for a CGE dovetail bar. Weighing just 5.67kg, this telescope can be mounted in a Celestron Advanced VX Computerised Mount or higher.
