The Celestron Advanced VX 8" RASA Telescope is a high-performance imaging system designed for astrophotography enthusiasts. This combination of the 8" Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA) and the Advanced VX mount delivers efficiency and accuracy for capturing deep-sky objects with ease.
Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph
The 8" Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph offers a fast f/2.2 focal ratio for flat-field imaging across an APS-C sensor.
This telescope is compatible with colour CMOS cameras, smaller CCDs, and mirrorless cameras, but not with standard DSLRs or cameras over 4" in diameter.
Wide Spectral Range
It performs over a wide spectral range from 400-800 nm, ensuring sharp focus and high light transmission.
Ultra Stable Focusing System
With an Ultra Stable Focusing System - Linear ball bearing minimises image shift for stable and accurate focusing.
Cooling System
A 12V DC MagLev fan enhances airflow while filtering dust and reducing cooldown time.
Integrated Filter Mount
An integrated internal filter mount supports light pollution imaging filters.
Included accessories are an M42 camera adapter, C-thread camera adapter, and fan battery pack.
The optical tube weighs 7.7kg (17 lbs), making it portable and suitable for remote locations.
Advanced VX Mount
The Advanced VX German Equatorial Mount provides reliable tracking and stability for imaging. It has a payload capacity of 13.6kg (30 lbs) without counterweights, supporting the RASA 8 optical tube and accessories.
The dual saddle plate is compatible with CG-5 and CGE-style dovetails, as well as Vixen format dovetails over 100mm. Additional features include Periodic Error Correction (PEC), an autoguider port, and meridian imaging capability.
Software included is Celestron PWI for advanced alignment and tracking, along with Starry Night Special Edition for observation planning.
The Celestron Advanced VX 8" Computerised RASA Telescope is ideal for astrophotographers looking to capture wide-field deep-sky objects with reduced exposure times. The fast f/2.2 system enables quick image acquisition, making autoguiding optional in many cases. Please note: It is not suitable for visual use.
