Celestron's know-how resulted in the Celestron CGX German Equatorial Mount: a culmination of technology, value and ease-of-use.
The Celestron CGX Equatorial Mount and Tripod is the successor to the well-acclaimed Celestron CGEM Lineup - Celestron's previous German Equatorial backbone for a range of telescopes.
The CGX has been engineered to offer a versatile payload capacity of 25kg whilst still maintaining a level of portability and ease-of-use. Even under heavy load, you'll experience impressively smooth movements with a heavy-duty belt-drive, a spring-loaded brass worm wheel and a stainless steel worm gear. Especially since the CGX features a latitude adjuster for super-easy adjustment under full load. With internal cabling and stationary power input and accessory ports, remotely-operating this German Equatorial mount is easier than ever. The CGX is also designed with ergonomics in mind with easy-to-use dovetail clamping knobs.
It should also be noted that the CGX German Equatorial Mount features an Adjustable EQ Head Position so that the center of gravity is always optimised and the latitude range of 3° to 65° is always utilised.
And in terms of its control software - the CGX was developed in conjunction with PlaneWave Instruments, so you can be sure that the included software offers a professional level of control for an expert astro-imaging solution.
The CGX EQ Mount has a number of other features too, such as Mechanical Hard Stops, Home and Limit Sensors, a Dual Dovetail Saddle, Ergonomic Carry Handles, an included NexStar+ Hand Controller, PPEC and more.
