The Celestron Deluxe Off-Axis Guider (OAG) is a must-have tool for owners of Schmidt-Cassegrain (SCT) and EdgeHD Telescopes. For these long focal length telescopes, the Celestron OAG improves guiding dramatically - even when compared to using a separate guide scope.
With a large, 12.5mm multi-coated prism, this OAG ensures brighter guide stars, making guiding as accurate as possible. This prism can be adjusted to move closer or further away from the center of the telescope's focal plane - a useful adjustment for different-sized imaging cameras. It works by using this prism to intercept a small portion of a telescope's focal plane to locate a guide star. With this method, the OAG corrects for tracking errors, mechanical errors and flexure.
The helical focuser of the Deluxe Off-Axis Guider also makes guiding a breeze. You'll enjoy how easy it is to make smooth, precise adjustments to the focus of your autoguider - without the need to twist or rotate its camera orientation.
And with a 48mm clear aperture, you won't be subject to vignetting when using the Celestron Deluxe OAG with full frame astronomical or DSLR cameras.
