How does it work?

The Celestron Omni Series 2x Barlow Lens is a device that magnifies objects when used with a telescope. When you attach it to an eyepiece, it effectively doubles the size of whatever you're looking at compared to using just the eyepiece alone. This applies to celestial objects like the moon, planets, and deep-sky objects.

Imagine you have two eyepieces that came with your telescope - one that's 10mm and another that's 25mm. If you use the Omni Series 2x Barlow with these eyepieces, it's like having a 5mm eyepiece with the 10mm one and a 12.5mm eyepiece with the 25mm one. That's right - with just one accessory, you can effectively double the number of eyepieces you have in your collection!

It's really easy to use. Just put the barlow into your telescope's 1.25-inch focuser or a 1.25" diagonal, and it can work with any 1.25-inch eyepieces. You can secure the eyepiece in place with a metal thumbscrew.
