The Celestron T-Adapter allows you to transform your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope into a powerful telephoto lens, enabling prime focus photography with SLR, DSLR or M42 Threaded Cameras including ZWO, QHY, Celestron and more. This durable metal adapter securely threads onto the rear cell of compatible C5-C14 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, providing a solid connection for capturing stunning images. For all 5-inch to 14-inch Schmidt-Cassegrains. It threads onto the rear cell.
To use the T-Adapter, pair it with a T-ring specific to your camera brand (sold separately). Attach the T-ring to your camera body in place of the lens, then connect the T-Adapter to your telescope's rear cell threads. Finally, mount the camera and T-ring onto the T-Adapter. This setup effectively turns your telescope into a high-magnification lens, with focal length depending on the telescope’s design—for example, an 8-inch SCT offers an impressive 2000mm focal length.
Ideal for short-exposure photography of celestial objects like the Moon or terrestrial scenes, this method maximises your telescope’s light-gathering capabilities. For deep-sky astrophotography requiring longer exposures, pair with a guidescope or off-axis guider and an equatorial mount for precise tracking.
