Q1. How do I clean the lenses of my GPO Passion binoculars?
Use a soft lens brush or air blower to remove dust or debris. Then gently clean the lenses using a microfibre cloth and lens cleaning solution. Avoid using household cleaners or tissues, which can scratch the lenses. We sell a saxon Optical Lens Cleaning Kit which includes everything essential for this!
Q2. How should I maintain my binoculars for long-term performance?
Keep your binoculars dry and clean. Wipe the exterior with a soft cloth after each use, especially if exposed to moisture, dust, or salt air. Check lens caps and eyecups regularly to ensure they remain protective and functional.
3. How do I adjust the dioptre on my GPO Passion binoculars?
The dioptre adjustment allows you to compensate for differences between your eyes.
-
First, close your right eye and focus the centre wheel using only your left eye.
-
Then, close your left eye and use the dioptre ring (on the right eyepiece for the GPO Passion ED model or it can be revealed by pulling out the central focuser on GPO Passion HD models) to sharpen the image for your right eye.
-
Once set, use only the centre focus wheel during normal use.
Q4. How should I store my binoculars when not in use?
Store them in the provided case in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in hot or humid environments, as extreme temperatures or moisture can damage optics or seals. Always ensure the lens caps are on when not in use.
Q5. Can I use a tripod with GPO Passion binoculars?
Yes, many models include a threaded adapter under a centre cap for tripod mounting. This is especially useful for extended observation or for reducing hand shake with high magnifications.
Q6. What is the best way to carry my binoculars in the field?
Use the included neck strap or a binocular harness for improved comfort during extended use. Make sure the strap is securely attached to avoid accidental drops.
