The QHY 16803A a large format CCD camera used for astrophotography, it uses the 16 Megapixel KAF-16803. It has an imaging area of 36mmx 36mm for both sensors. The QHY16803A comes with an in-built motor driven filter wheel, which supports a 7-position, 50mm square filter. This allows it to install a whole deep sky filter set - LRGB, Ha, OIII and SIII all at once! This helps in making narrowband imaging and LRGB simpler compared to other models which will require you to alternate filters depending on the kind of imaging you choose to do.
This model also comes with an internal USB hub which comes with USB to dual RS232 converter and two USB ports. If an electric focuser, mount or a guiding camera needs to be connected, it can be done directly to the 695A, instead of connecting it to a computer. This makes it clutter free and reduces the possibility of losing signal, which is more prone with long cables.
This camera also uses a butterfly shaped motorised shutter. It has unlimited operating life and does not cause any abrasion to the other parts. This shutter is great as it is double sided; used to open and close the shutter.
The 16803A also comes with an integrated two-stage cooling which helps in decreasing the temperature of the CCD chip upto 45 degrees C below ambient. This results in long and clean exposures and extremely low thermal noise.
