All hail the stable and solid Dobsonian mount! The Saxon 8" Dobsonian Telescope designed with a huge diameter tube and heavy base, makes deep sky observations easy and extremely productive. Dobsonians are known in the telescope world to be one of the simplest and most functional in gathering light. It's no wonder a Dobsonian stays with an astronomy enthusiast for a good many years - due to its minimal mechanical parts, it is difficult to break down!

The best part about the Saxon 8" Dobsonian Telescope is looking through its single element glass to find your images crisp and detailed. With an 8" Dobsonian you can expect to see a few nebulae, some planets, and in detail the moon. The "paraboloidol" primary mirror of this tube eliminates sperical aberration while a four-arm secondary mirror bracket reduces diffraction spikes and light loss. With this proper construction, the 8" Dob tube is well sealed to gather maximal light while producing high resolution images

In addition, this model includes a 2" focuser with a 1.25" adapter, allowing the use of either eyepiece size. With the Saxon 8" Dobsonian Telescope you get a 10mm and 25mm 1.25" Super Plossl Eyepiece.

Tension Control Handle
This Saxon Dob is fitted with a Tension Control Handle (US Patent #6,940,642), to provide a tension adjuster so that users can easily turns to add or reduce tension, thereby increasing or decreasing the friction between the optical tube and the sideboard of the mount. Telescopes then need not be balanced in order to stay in position. A tension adjuster also allows the optical tube to stay in position although the tube can still be moved when prompted.

The Saxon 8" Dobsonian Telescope is covered by a 5-Year Warranty.

Wonderful product at a great price Review by Mia
Overall Score
I bought this for a friends birthday and I don't regret it at all. We've used it a few times and have seen some amazing stuff. Easily views the moon in great detail (get a moon lens, that thing is bright) and we could see faint lines on Jupiter as well as 4 moons. We took it out into the country to get some really really dark sky and could see nebula and globular clusters, amazing! It's quite bulky though so not ideal if you're planning to travel with it. Very easy to set up though, great for lazy people or those with kids that don't want to mess around with calibration and setup. (Posted on 18/08/2015)
