The Skywatcher 0.77x Flattener and Reducer is meticulously designed for the Esprit 150ED telescope, transforming its focal ratio from f/7 to a fast f/5.4. This change results in a significant 68% reduction in exposure time, allowing you to capture more detailed and vivid images in less time. The accessory also functions as a field flattener, ensuring sharp, pinpoint stars across the entire field of view by correcting edge distortion.
With a fully illuminated and corrected image circle of 36mm, the flattener and reducer is compatible with both APS-C and full-frame sensors. When used with a full-frame camera, it offers a generous 2.54 x 1.7-degree field of view, while an APS-C crop sensor provides a 1.66 x 1.11-degree field of view.
The flattener and reducer features a 90mm back focus, which is reduced to 55mm when the back focus spacer and M48 ring are installed, ensuring precise spacing for optimal performance. It comes with a spacer and an M48 thread adapter, as well as metal thread-on caps for protection. Additionally, the built-in 2-inch filter cell allows for easy installation of light pollution filters directly into the light path, enhancing your astrophotography by reducing unwanted light interference.
