Its large, 120mm air-spaced apochromatic triplet objective lens uses premium Ohara FPL-53 ED glass, which provides exceptional color correction with no detectable chromatic aberration, even on bright stars.

The optical tube of the Skywatcher Esprit 120EDX features internal knife-edge baffles that reduce internal reflections and increase contrast, helping to reveal faint details in deep-sky objects. For wide-field imaging, an optional 2-element field flattener is available separately to provide a fully corrected 42mm image circle. The Esprit 120EDX refractor is a superb choice for high-resolution imaging.
