The ZWO CH4 Methane Band Filter is designed to enhance planetary imaging by passing light in the deep near-infrared range, specifically around 890nm. This filter is ideal for reducing the effects of poor viewing conditions and improving the visibility of planetary features, such as the rings of Saturn and Jupiter.
Housed in a 1.25” cell, this filter features a Full Width at Half Maximum (FWHM) of 20nm, making it suitable for use with most IR-sensitive colour or monochrome cameras. It helps to reveal fine details of planetary surfaces without making the images excessively dark.
The filter is compatible with 1.25" (31.7mm) filter threads and comes with a protective plastic case to ensure its longevity and safe storage. This filter is recommended for astrophotography of planets, enhancing contrast and detail in planetary images.
