The ZWO FF130APO is an advanced refractive astrograph that incorporates a powerful flatfield optical design, eliminating the need for an expensive field flattener. This innovative design saves you from the hassle of calculating back focus distance and connecting multiple accessories to achieve the desired results. You can easily connect any necessary accessories, and once the target is in focus, the entire optical system is ideal for capturing images. This convenient setup process saves you time, allowing you to focus more on the actual image shooting.
Compared to its counterpart, the ZWO FF107 APO, the ZWO FF130 APO is larger in size, featuring a 23mm larger aperture and a longer focal length of f7/7. This combination results in higher levels of detail and slightly increased magnification, while still providing a suitable field of view for deep-sky objects. The extended focal length particularly benefits planetary and larger deep-sky objects, delivering stunning details within a reasonable timeframe, thanks to the 130mm aperture.
The ZWO FF130 APO incorporates a quadruplet lens structure with two pieces of ED glass, effectively minimizing chromatic and other aberrations. Its self-flattening design offers significant advantages in astronomical photography. With support for a medium frame 60mm image circle, this astrograph produces fine spot diagrams with minimal distortion on peripheral stars, featuring a central RMS radius of less than 2 microns.
Weighing only 10.5 kg for the OTA and 12.5 kg for the full package including tube rings and other accessories, the ZWO FF130 APO is lightweight and portable. It comes equipped with a 3.4" rigid focuser featuring a new-type 360° rotator with scales and a finder base. Additionally, it includes M86, M68, M54, and M48 camera adapters, with the M48 adapter featuring a 2" female thread for filter installation. When used with the 3" 0.7x flat-field reducer, the telescope achieves a focal ratio of f/5.4 and a focal length of 700mm, significantly reducing exposure time. The multifunctional handle incorporates a central slot for attaching an M6 screw with an M6 screw hole. The standard KLOsmandy dovetail plate, combined with sturdy double rings, ensures stability for both viewing and shooting.
