    Quick Guide 1

Q1. Does the ZWO Seestar S50 require manual alignment?

No. It features auto-alignment and automatic object tracking, making it beginner-friendly with no need for polar alignment or manual calibration. There will be a calibration sequence for levelling the tripod.

Q2. Can I use the Seestar S50 in light-polluted areas?

Yes. The Seestar S50 is equipped with an internal dual-band filter (Hα + OIII) to reduce light pollution, enhancing deep-sky visibility even in urban environments.

Q3. How do I update the firmware?

Firmware updates are delivered via the Seestar app. Ensure your telescope is connected to Wi-Fi, then follow prompts in the app to install the latest version.

Q4. How should I clean the optics?

Use a soft blower to remove dust from the lens. If needed, use a microfibre cloth and optical lens cleaner. Avoid touching the lens with your fingers.

Q5. Can I replace the battery?

Replacement internal battery is available. Contact staff for availability and pricing. For best longevity, charge it regularly and avoid draining it completely.

Q6. Can I control the Seestar without an internet connection?

es, it creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot. You can connect directly to it with your device even without mobile data or home Wi-Fi.

Q7. Why is the image quality better in TIFF than in FITS?

TIFF files are processed for visual quality, while FITS files are raw and may appear washed out or noisy. FITS are preferred for advanced post-processing.

Q8. Why are there star trails in my images?

This could result from vibration or poor leveling. Ensure the tripod is stable and the device is on solid ground. Restart the auto-alignment if necessary. You can also now use the Seestar S50 in EQ mode using an equatorial wedge. This will help reduce star trails for long exposures.
